The camp

Clubs, schools and agencies

Planning a tailor-made football and language trip to France for a group.

Our method

French for the pitch

You learn a language faster when you need it. In Le Mans, French becomes the tool to play, to be understood and to make friends.

  1. 1

    Level check on arrival

A short speaking test to form balanced groups.

  2. 2

    Small-group workshops

Introduce yourself, talk about your position, understand the coach, order a meal, ask for directions.

  3. 3

    Instant practice

Coaching instructions and trips into town become real-life communication.

  4. 4

    Individual report

Every participant leaves with a report on their progress in French and football.

« Je suis démarqué ! »I’m open!
« Passe-moi le ballon ! »Pass me the ball!
« Attention, dans ton dos ! »Man on!
« Je joue milieu de terrain. »I play in midfield.
« Un pain au chocolat, s’il vous plaît. »A chocolate croissant, please.
« Bien joué, l’équipe ! »Well played, team!

Examples of phrases practised during the week.

FAQ

What families ask us

Another question? Write to us in English or French at info@bigfoot-sports.com.

Does my child need to speak French?

No. Groups range from complete beginner to B1 level. Staff speak English for arrival, safety and communication with families, and French gradually takes over during the week.

When are the first camps?

During the summer 2027 holidays, in July and August. Exact dates are sent first to pre-registered families. More school-holiday camps will follow.

What football level is required?

It depends on the camp. Immersion is open to all levels, from keen amateurs to club players. Performance is for club players who already have a good level: we confirm this with each family at registration. In both camps, training groups are organised by age and ability.

Are the camps open to girls?

Not yet. Our 2027 sessions are currently for boys aged 14–17. We are preparing sessions for girls: email info@bigfoot-sports.com to hear about them first.

Who supervises the participants?

Football coaches, teachers of French as a foreign language and a supervision team on site day and night during residential camps.

How do we get to Le Mans?

Le Mans is about 55 minutes from Paris-Montparnasse by TGV and has direct TGV services from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. We meet participants at Le Mans station. An escorted transfer from Paris is available as an option.

Where do participants stay?

Full-board players stay in group accommodation in Le Mans, with all meals included. The exact address is sent to families with the booking confirmation. Day-camp players go home every evening.

We live in France or are on holiday there. Can my child join?

Yes, that is what the day camp is for: the same football and the same French, from 9am to 6pm with lunch and afternoon snack, without accommodation. It is available for both camps, Immersion and Performance.

Do the camps guarantee a club contract?

No. Our camps focus on development, experience and discovering French football. The Performance camp offers more individual feedback and exposure, with no promise of a contract.

How does registration work?

Fill in the pre-registration form. We get back to you to confirm the session, level and your child’s needs, then send you the registration pack and booking conditions.
